These two pieces are the same. I used the same photo of Christopher Walken (aka Ronnie), taken by famous photographer Martin Schoeller. The process and time that passed between each piece (Christopher in 2012 and Ronnie in 2021) made them very different from one another. Even though they look so different, I think they convey two different sides of the same person. Christopher, as we all know, is super famous mega-actor Tarantino bad-ass. He looks creepy. He feels sinister even if he's being goofy. Ronnie, on the other hand, looks more like he did before he was Christopher (even though it's the same photo). He looks like the musical theatre guy with an edge. Have you seen his dance in Pennies From Heaven? That's what I"m talkin about. He's pretty, but odd. He's suave with a dark quirk - not necessarily black corners of mystery, more like a little mischief and a whole lotta charm to get you to follow him. I also like the way both pieces show the difference in my work over time. It's tighter, more confident, more defined. I'm creating more animals and feeling bolder with colours. It'll be exciting to see where I go next. Stay tuned for upcoming giveaways, entries, and more work with custom frames!
